About Us:

Our mission is to ensure that key information is readily available in case of an emergency, even if you are not carrying identification.

ICE-info-now was designed and implemented by Chris Bennett. Chris has an adventurous spirit which has seen him work in over 30 developed and developing countries, as well as undertaking a range of sporting activities from Ironman triathlon to self-supported long distance endurance bike racing (some of his race reports are at: http://lpcb.org/index.php/chris-advertising). He also works as a volunteer St John Ambulance First Responder.

Chris was inspired to implement ICE-info-now when there was initially a mis-identification of a mountain biker who died in a crash without carrying anything on him with his name or contact details. This almost saw their next of kin given the worst possible information--when in fact they were alive and well.

ICE-info-now is designed from the ground up as a low cost service. Bands are sent out from this site at essentially our cost of manufacturing and order fulfilment. They are available from partners and at some races for little or no cost (if you are race organiser or interested in bulk bands contact us!). There is no cost to use the service and have e-mail notifications sent, unless you want to send SMS messages which are charged at a nominal cost based on our actual costs for maintaining the service.

At least 20% of any profits that may arise from ICE-info-now are donated to charities in New Zealand such as St John Ambulance, Golden Bay Mountain Biking Club, and others.

To minimize our environmental footprint, we have chosen a manufacturer and fulfilment agent who is able to supply the product 'raw' without any additional packaging. To further mitigate our environmental impact we operate as 'Plastic Neutral' through our support to www.plasticbank.com.
